Tribute to Van Gogh ( acrylic painting 30x35cm)
This is an acrylic on wooden panel painting. It shows sunflowers in a vase sitting on a Van Gogh’s Wheat Field painting. Van Gogh painted sunflowers in different ways and it was clear that they meant a lot to him. In one paintng he used them to represent the different stages of life.
The sunflowers in this picture were presented to me by a friend during an exhibition of my art. They turned into one of my favourite paintings. The gesture prompted me to paint the flowers but with the intention of breathing life into them. I set them up in a vase on top of an image of Van Gogh's "Wheat Field" painting and created this artwork.
The painting ( unframed) measures 30×35cm approximately. Framed It measures 44.5×51cm.
